1 C flour
¼ lb butter
1 T cold water

1 C water
¼ lb butter
1 C flour
½ t almond extract

2 C powdered sugar
2 t almond extract
2 T butter
milk to make it spreading consistency

Directions:
Directions:
Step 1
Mix as for pie crust; divide into 2 parts. Make the strips about 3" wide and 12" long on cookie sheet.

Step 2
Bring water and butter to a boil; stir in flour as you take from stove. Beat in one egg at a time; mix until smooth. Cover top crust. Bake 40 mins at 400º.

Frosting
Spread on Kringle when slightly cooled. Sprinkle with slivered almonds.

You can spread some preserves on Kringle and then frosting on top of that.
