3 ⅓ c. flour (plus some for rolling out)
¼ lb. butter
½ c. sugar
3 eggs
Grated lemon peel
Cardamom
1 tsp. cream
½ tsp. ammonium bicarbonate
Dash of schnapps, vodka or cognac

Directions:
Directions:
1. Mix flour, butter and sugar thoroughly with a wooden spoon.
2. Gradually add other ingredients.
3. Let stand in cool place until ready to cook.
4. Roll out to about 1/16 inch thickness.
5. With curly edged cutting wheel, cut into diamond shape.
6. Make short slit in center of each cookie and gently fold one end through slit.
7. Cook in hot oil until golden brown.
8. Cool and enjoy.

This is the recipe used by my parents for Christmas every year. It actually asks for 1 pound flour and 1/4 pound sugar. Google helped me to convert to cups. Hope it works!
