1 Pkg devils food cake mix
½ c cocoa
2 eggs
2 T water
2 T oil

Hot cocoa powder

1 envelope gelatin
¼ c cold water
1 c shortening
1 t vanilla
1 # + 1 c powdered sugar

Directions:
Blend cake mix, cocoa, eggs, water and oil until well blended. Let rest 20 minutes. Form into 1 inch balls and place on parchment paper lined sheets 2 inches apart. Flatten with bottom of glass dipped in hot cocoa mix powder. Bake at 400º for 8 minutes. Remove from oven and flatten again. Allow to cool completely, while making filling.
Soften gelatin in old water. Place in pan of hot water until it turns clear. Remove from hot water and cool. Beat shortening and vanilla until creamy. Gradually beat in powdered sugar. Continue to beat until light and fluffy. Add cooled gelatin and beat well. Use 1 teaspoonful of filling between a pair of cookies. Chill to set filling.
