¾ CUP SHORTENING
¾ CUP SUGAR
1 TSP VANILLA
3 BEATEN EGGS
1 - 3 OUNCE PKG. FRUIT FLAVORED GELATIN
½ TSP. SALT
1 TSP BAKING POWDER
2 ¾ CUPS FLOUR

Spray waffle iron with non-stick spray. Turn waffle iron on medium heat.

Cream shortening and sugar together, with electric mixer, beat in vanilla and egg. Add gelatin, salt, baking powder and flour. Stir mixture with wooden spoon until well mixed. Form dough into 1- 1½" balls. Place one ball on each section of waffle iron and close iron, pressing cookies flat. Bake for 2 minutes. Do not overcook. Remove cookies with fork to cooling rack.
