Sugar Cookies Recipe

½ Cup Unsalted Butter, softened
¾ Cup Sugar
1 large Egg
1 Tbl. Milk or Cream
2 Cups Flour
¼ tsp. Salt
¼ tsp. Cinnamon or nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Thoroughtly cream the butter by hand. Add sugar and mix until fluffy. Beat in the egg and then the milk. In a separate bowl mix together all dry ingredients. Stir them into the butter. Knead the dough for just a minute.

Chill the dough, then roll dough out 1/4 inch thick. Cut with cookie cutters.

Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes, or until edges brown

Icing
----------
With a fork mix:

2 Tbl. meringue powder
¼ Cup warm water
¼ tsp. vanilla
Stir until combined.
Gradually add 1½ cup powdered sugar, until syrupy.

Frost cookies with a paint brush
