½ c butter
¾ c sugar
1 large egg
1 T lemon peel
1 ½ T lemon juice
¾ t vanilla
½ t baking powder
¼ t baking soda
1 ¼ c flour

½ c sliced almonds or ¼ c sugar for garnish

Directions:
Directions:
Beat butter and sugar on high until light and fluffy. Beat in rest of ingredients, except flour, until well mixed. Stir in flour til just blended.
Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls 1 ½ inch apart. Sprinkle with choice of garnish. Bake at 350º for 12 minutes until edges are lightly browned. Cool 1 minute before removing from pan.
