½ cup milk
1 large egg
2 cups flour
1½ t. baking powder
1 t. sugar
¼ t. salt
⅛ t. baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
In small bowl, beat milk & egg. Mix dry ingredients well and add wet ingredients and mix until it forms a ball. Knead about 30 times. Place in a oil sprayed bowl, cover and let rise for 3 hours. Preheat oven to 450º. Sprinkle a work surface with flour & turn out dough. Cut dough into 8 pieces. Flatten each piece into a ⅜ in. thick teardrop shape Put on a baking sheet & bake until firm 10 - 12 minutes. If you like, run briefly under a broiler to lightly brown tops. Serve hot or room temp.
