1/4 c. soy sauce
2 T. packed brown sugar
2 thin slices ginger root or 1/8 t. ground ginger
1 clove garlic, crushed
10 chicken livers, cut in half
10 water chestnuts, cut in half
10 slices bacon, cut in half

Directions:
Directions:
Mix soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger root and garlic in a glass or plastic bowl. Stir in chicken livers and water chestnuts. Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours, stirring occasionally; drain. Heat oven to 400. Wrap a piece of bacon around a piece of liver and water chestnut. Secure with a wooden toothpick. Place on rack in broiler pan. Repeat with remaining livers. Bake 25 to 30 minutes, turning once, until bacon is crisp.
