1 box Duncan Hines chocolate cake mix

Directions:
Mix chocolate cake as directed. Divide into 3 layers. Bake at temperature directed on box, then let cake cool. Put White Filling between two bottom layers.
 

White Filling:

3 Tblsp. flour
1 cup milk
1 cup sugar
1 cup margarine, softened at room temperature
1 tsp. vanilla
Directions:
Directions:
Cook flour and milk together until thick. Cool completely. Mix and beat sugar and margarine (must come to room temperature; do not soften in microwave - this will affect the consistency of white cream). Add vanilla. Beat until fluffy, then add milk mixture. Beat until creamy.

Finish cake with frosting.
 

Frosting:

½ cup Crisco shortening
1 egg
½ cup cocoa
¼ tsp. salt
4 cups confectioners' sugar
⅓ cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Blend Crisco, egg, cocoa and salt. Add sugar, alternating with milk and vanilla. Mix until smooth.

(To save time, I usually buy prepared frosting.)
