½ cup water
2 cups sugar
1 cup white corn syrup
2 cups raw peanuts
2 Tblsp. butter
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
In a heavy pan bring to boil ½ cup water. Stir in sugar and corn syrup. Stir until dissolved and boil until the mixture will spin a thread from a wooden spoon. (About 295º on a candy thermometer; 15-20 minutes)

Add raw peanuts and cook over a medium heat until the mixture turns a golden brown. (About 10-20 minutes)

Remove from heat and add butter, vanilla and baking soda, in order, stirring vigorously after each addition.

Spread mixture on two cookie sheets to cool.

If thinner peanut brittle is desired, spread candy out with a table knife.

When cool, break into pieces and store in an air tight container.
