1¾c. chicken broth
½ c. finely shredded carrot
¼ c. finely chopped celery
¼ c. finely chopped onion
1¾ c. milk
¼ c. all purpose flour
Dash pepper
1 c. shredded American cheese (4 oz.)

Directions:
Directions:
In a medium saucepan, combine chicken broth, carrots, celery and onion. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 6 to 8 minutes or till vegetables are tender. Combine milk, flour and pepper. Stir into broth mixtures. Cook and stir till thickened and bubbly. Cook and stir 1 minute more. Add cheese; stir till melted.
Makes 5 side-dish or 3 main-dish servings.
