4 slices bacon
1 stalk celery, chopped
1 onion, diced
2 chili peppers, chopped
1 glass white wine
2 cans white beans, partially drained
ketchup
salt
pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Cook the bacon in a skillet. Remove once cooked, leaving most of the fat.
Add the celery and onions to the still hot skillet. Once they are softened, add the chilies.
Deglaze with the white wine.
Add the beans (with about 1/4 of the liquid from the cans) and a good amount of ketchup.
Chop the cooked bacon and add to the beans.
Turn off the heat. Stir and taste. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

Pour the beans into a small casserole. Put the lid on the casserole or use foil to cover.

Cook for 30 minutes with in a 180ºC oven. Remove and let sit covered for at least 15 minutes before serving.

We used to make this with tomatoes, brown sugar and vinegar. Then we realised that this mixture was basically ketchup. So now we just use ketchup. (Don't tell the gourmands - bet they won't be able to tell!)
