sweet dough
4 1/2 to 5 cups flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 packages dry yeast
3/4 cup milk
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup shortening
2 eggs at room temperature


Runza filling

1/2 pound groung beef
1 onion, chopped
2 cups chopped cabbage
2 tablespoon butter
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper

Directions:
Directions:
For sweeet dough
Measure 1 3/4 cup flour into large mixing bowl.
Stir in sugar, salt and yeast.
Heat milk, water and shortening until warm.
Pour into flour mixture.
Add eggs and beat with electric mixer at low speed for 1/2 minute.
Continue beating for 3 more minutes at high speed.
Stir in rest of flour.
Kneed about 3 minutes, until smooth.
Cover dough, let rest for 20 minutes, then shape as desired.
Let rise in warm place from 40 to 60 minutes and bake until golden brown.

Runza filling
Brown beef and onions with cabbage in butter. Add to beef mixture with salt and pepper.
Roll dough very thin and cut into 6 to 7 inch squares.
Bring corners of dough to the center, pinch edges together and place smooth side on greased baking sheet.
Let rise and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
