Chicken-1/2 kg
Sesame oil-50ml
Ginger- 1 inch
Garlic-10 pods
Cinnamon-1 stick
Cloves-2
Small onions(shallots)-10
Green chilies-4
Turmeric-1tsp
Chilly powder-1tsp
Curry leaves-few
Coriander powder-2 tbsp
Coriander leaves-few
Chicken masala powder-1tbsp
Salt-as needed

Ginger-garlic paste:
Grind ginger, garlic, cinnamon and cloves to a fine paste and keep aside.
First clean the chicken with turmeric and salt.
Add some sesame oil in a pan and heat it. Then add mustard seeds. When it splutters, add chopped onions, green-chilies, curry leaves and little salt. Sauté till onions get transparent. Then add grounde paste, cleaned chicken, turmeric and chilly powder. Add little water to cook chicken. Mix well and leave it to cook for 10min. Now chicken cooked well. Then check for salt and add remaining masala powders one by one. Mix everything. After adding masala powder adjust your burner to simmer. Close the lid and leave it for another 5min till oil separates from gravy. If the gravy is too dry add some water into it. Add some chopped coriander leaves. Serve hot with rice, chapathi, idli and dosa. Very yummy recipe.
