*Adjust these measurements based on how much you want to make*

5 pounds of Aunt Jemima Self-Rising Flour
1 dozen eggs
1¼ pound of butter or margarine, melted
1½ milk
1 tbs. baking powder
½ cup vanilla
1½cup of sugar
Honey, additional ½ cup sugar and lemon zest
nonpareils (tri colored sprinkles)

Directions:

1. Place flour in large bowl and make a hole in the center.

2. On top of flour sprinkle baking powder

In a separate bowl:
Beat eggs, add butter vanilla, sugar and milk

Pour above ingredients into the center of the flour.

Start from inside::mix wet ingredients with flour

Take a handful of dough and roll into a long strand

Cut the strand into small bite size pieces. Do this with all of the dough.

Use a deep fryer (or on stove) and with CRISCO brand oil deep fry the balls.

In a pan, place honey, 1/2 cup sugar and lemon zest. Cook on low until the honey melts.

Place cooked struffoli in a bowl like a mound. Place the melted honey over the struffolis and allow to cool. Add nonpareils.

Fun Fact: We never used nonpareils on our honey balls because they got stuck in grandpa's dentures!
