1 package frozen tortellini

2 cups fresh basil leaves
3/4 pint cream
2 tbsp butter
6 slices of bacon, uncooked
2 green onions, chopped
1 tbsp lemon juice
1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated

Directions:
Directions:
Blend or process basil until finely chopped.

Add cream, blend until combined.

Melt butter in pan, add bacon and onions and cook until bacon is crisp.

Stir in basil mixture, lemon juice and cheese, heat through.

Cook tortellini per package instructions, drain, and add basil sauce.

I found this recipe while putting together this cookbook in a cookbook Janice Feyen gave me when I was in New Zealand in 1993. I had totally forgotten about it, and I'm so happy I've found it again!

Hint: you can substitute cooked bacon (if you ever have any left over - ha!) for the raw bacon.
