Jessica's Chinese Lettuce Wraps Recipe

Ingredients: 1 Head butter lettuce, separated into leaves 1 lb. ground beef or ground turkey or chicken (I use ground beef) 1/4 cup celery, chopped fine 1/4 cup mushrooms, chopped fine 1/4 cup bamboo shoots (optional but I used)
Sauce; 1 Tbl soy sauce 1/4 tsp. DARK soy sauce 1 Tbl. Oyster sauce 1 1/2 tsp. sesame oil 1 Tbl. Rice WIne(optional) 1/2 tsp sugar 1/2 tsp.white or rice vinegar a little but of pepper

Directions: Mix all of the sauce ingredients together and blend well. Saute the ground meat, until pink. Remove from pan. Saute all of the veggies together, then put the half-cooked ground meat back in the pan (with veggies) to continue cooking. Add the sauce and cook through. If mixture seems too wet, add a Tbl. of cornstarch to some of the liquid in pan (separately) and mix well. Add cornstarch mix to pan and cook; mixture should thicken up. Serve warm surrounded by lettuce leaves for wrapping. |
