Brine: 1 quart white vinegar, 2 quarts water, 1 cup canning salt. bring to a boil

for each quart jar you will need:
cucumbers
1/4 tsp celery seed
1/4 tsp mustard seed
1/8 tsp. turmeric
1 garlic clove
1 tsp. dill seed
1 tsp. sugar in each quart jar will make the pickles less sour and less salty

Pack washed cucumbers into jars. (pack each jar tightly)
Add seasonings
Pour hot brine into jars. Put heated lids and rings on jars. Make sure there is nothing on the rim of jar that will keep the lid from sealing. Process in Hot water bath for 10 min.

Hot water bath: A large pot (caner) with enough water to cover jars completely. Boil for 10 min.
Remove from bath and place on a towel to dry and cool. Make sure the rings are tight. You will hear popping sounds as the jars seal.

Refrigerate jar of pickles before serving. We prefer to use the small cucumbers so we have small pickles.
