1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 c. and 1 T. shortening
2 - 3 T cold water
1 c. apple sauce
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. corn starch
1/2 tsp. water
1/2 c. confectioner's sugar
3 tsp. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Pastry: sift together 1 cup of flour and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Cut shortening into flour mixture. Mix cold water into flour lightly.

Apple sauce filling: Mix cinnamon and apple sauce in a pan. Mix corn starch and cold water. Stir corn starch mixture into the apple sauce. Cook over moderate heat for about 15 minutes.

Glaze: Mix 1/2 cup confectioner's sugar and 3 teaspoons milk.

Roll dough out thin and cut into 3" circles. Fill with apple sauce filling. Fold over and fasten down with fork. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for about 15 minutes. When dandies are cooled, drizzle with glaze.
