36 medium cucumbers
free running salt
vinegar
alum
3# sugar
i oz. stick cinnamon
1 oz. celery seed
1 oz. whole allspice

Directions:
Directions:
Soak cukes 3 days in strong salt water. Rinse. Soak 3 days in clear water. chunk cukes. Let simmer in weak vinegar water (1 part vinegar to 3 parts water and 1 T. alum for 1/2 hour, then rinse.
Make brine of 3 qt. vinegar, 3 # sugar, cinnamon, celery seed and allspice. Boil brine then pour over pickles. Reheat liquid 3 mornings. Will keep in unsealed jar.
