Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tablespoon baking powder
2/3 cup milk
1 cup dried fruit
1 cup of water
3/4 cup sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Prepare filling cook dried fruit in water until soft stir in sugar and cook and stir
a few minutes until completely dissolved.
Mom usually used apricots but any kind would work.
You could also use fruit pie filling.
Combine flour, salt, and baking powder mix well.
Stir in 2/3 cup of milk.
Roll crust out to a 6 inch circle. Place a couple of tablespoons of fruit mixture in center
fold over and seal edges with fingers or fork.

Fry these in hot crisco oil. I would say to use about 2 cups of oil and fry at about 350 degrees
until golden. You will need to flip over when 1st side is done.
They need to cook fast enough to not absorb too much grease but at a low enough temperature
to not burn the crust.

Drizzle with powdered sugar glaze if desired.
