Directions:
In a mixing bowl, combine yeast and 2¼ c flour. Heat milk, sugar, shortening and salt until warm; stirring until shortening melts. Add to dry ingredients; add egg. Beat at low speed of electric mixer for ½ minute, scraping sides of bowl. Beat 3 minutes at high speed. Stir in enough of the remaining flour to form a soft dough. Place in greased bowl, turn once and cover with a T-towel. Let raise til double in size (1-2 hours).

Turn out onto lightly floured surface, divide dough in half. Roll each half to 16x8" rectangle. Combine 1/2 c sugar, melted butter and cinnamon; spread half the cinnamon mix over each rectangle. Top each with 1/4 c raisins. Rollup, from the long side (jelly roll fashion). Seal the edge. Cut in 1" slices. Place cut side down, in 2 greased 9x9x2 pans. Cover and let rise til double (30-40 minutes).
Bake 375º for 20-25 minutes. Drizzle with powder sugar icing.
