½ cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup milk
2 egg whites
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tsp baking powder
2 cups flour
Raisins
Chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Beat egg whites.
Cream butter and sugar together and add stiffly beaten egg whites. Add milk, vanilla, baking powder and sifted flour.
Pour half the batter into a greased 9X9 cake pan, put a layer of raisins and chopped walnuts and top with the remaining batter.
Bake about 30 minutes in a 350º oven.
After cake is cooled, ice the top and place walnut halves on top.
