1/2 cup chicken stock plus an extra 3 tbsp
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup wheat germ
1 tsp brewer’s yeast
1 tbsp canola oil plus an extra 1 1/2 tsps
1 tsp salt
Optional: 1 small garlic clove, chopped

Directions:

400°F (200°C) oven, bake for 10 minutes, turn, bake another 10. Then cool for 1 1/2 hours.

Preheat the oven and line a baking tray with parchment. Mix together the wheat germ, salt, flour and brewer’s yeast. In another bowl, mix the oil and garlic. Add the chicken stock and flour mixture in 3 parts, mixing well. Knead by hand for 2 minutes on a well-floured surface. Roll the dough to 3/8 inch thick and cut into shapes. Place on a baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes and then rotate the baking sheet, basting with the remaining chicken stock. Bake for another 10 minutes and turn the oven off. Leave the door closed and keep the pan in the oven for another 1 1/2 hours.
