2 lbs hamburger
1 large onion
4 tsp. salt
2 T. sugar
2 tsp. chili powder
2 tsp. garlic salt
48 oz. spaghetti sauce (or Lisa's Spaghetti Italian Sauce)
4 C. shredded cheese (1/2 american 1/2 mozzarella)
lasagna noodles
Cottage cheese or ricotta cheese; for ricotta cheese mixture add 1 egg and 1/2 C Parmesan cheese

Brown beef with onion and seasonings. Add spaghetti sauce. Bring to a boil, simmer 10 minutes (mixture may be thin). In a 9x13 pan ladle 1 1/2 cups sauce. Cover with uncooked noodles, then spread cottage cheese or ricotta mixture, sauce, then cheese over the sauce. Keep repeating layers. Cover with foil. Bake at 350° 1 1/2 hours or 2 hours if refrigerated.
