½-CUP WATER



SWEET SOPAIPILLAS
CHRISTMAS TRADITION
2-CUP FLOUR
PINCH OF SALT
1/2-CUP MILK
1/2-COP SUGAR
1/4-TSP. GROUND CINNAMON
1/8- TSP. CLOVES
2-EGGS BEATEN
2-TBS. SHORTENING

MIX FLOUR AND SALT AND SIFT IT INTO A MED. BOWL. ADD WATER, KNEAD WITH HANDS UNTIL THE DOUGH IS ALMOST THE CONSISTENCY OF LIGHT BREAD. FORM INTO BALLS, THEN ROLL OUT SMOOTH, TRIM INTO A WEDGE, DROP INTO AN OIL FILLED DUTCH OVEN @ 350', COOK UNTIL IT PUFFS UP AND BROWNS.
SERVES WITH HONEY BUTTER OR CINNAMON BUTTER.

MIX ALL INGREDIENTS IN A LARGE BOWL. KNEAD AS REGULAR SOPAIPILLS. IT MAY TAKE HALF AND HOUR OR MORE. FORM INTO BALLS ROLL OUT AND CUT INTO TRIANGLES AND DEEP FRY UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN IN OIL REGULATED @ 350'F.
