1-2 # Hamburger meat
1-C white rice
1-2 Cans tomato sauce
Large-Head of Cabbage
1-onion diced
1-bell pepper deseeded and diced the same size the onions are
1-2 Eggs
1-2 Lb. cheddar Cheese
1-Tsp garlic powder
Salt pepper

Cut out the heart Stub of the cabbage. Wash well pull the cabbage apart trying to keep the leaves as large as you can, steam the leaves till they get tender and pliable.
Mix the hamburger meat, eggs, rice, onions bell peppers, garlic, a good handful of cheese and the salt and pepper. Form them into balls. Wrap each ball with a cabbage leaf and secure with a toothpick. Place the balls in a lightly greased Dutch oven. Cover the balls in tomato sauce cover and cook till the balls are completely done and the rice is soft.. season as desired

Start cooking with 15 charcoal on top and 9 on the bottom adjust as you check the dish (watch the bottom of the cabbage ball.
When the dish is almost done sprinkle the rest of the cheese on top and let it melt over the cabbage roll.

Good served with a good skillet of cornbread.

Mom made this for us quit often as we were little and I really liked it, not too sure about Jeff and Lori.

I adapted it to a Dutch oven recipe and cooked it at a couple of campouts.
