4 cups sliced tart apples
2/3 cup brown sugar (use up to 3/4 cups)
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup oatmeal
3/4 tsp cinnamon
3/4 tsp nutmeg
1/3 cup softened margarine

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 375°. Arrange apples in greased 8x8x2" square pan. Mix remaining ingredients. Sprinkle over apples. Bake until topping is golden brown and apples are tender, about 30 minutes. Serve warm, if desired, with cream or ice cream.

Denise's note: Roger likes lots of the "crisp" part in this recipe, so I usually double the "crisp".
