2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 stick butter
1 cup water
1/2 cup shortening
3 - 4 Tbsp chocolate cocoa
2 eggs
1 tsp soda
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp cinnamon

1/2 cup butter
3 Tbsp chocolate
1 tsp vanilla
8 Tbsp evaporated milk
1 box powdered sugar
chopped pecans
Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, sugar and salt into a large bowl. In a small saucepan, bring the butter, water, shortening and cocoa to a boil. Let this mixture cool before pouring over flour mixture. Mix in eggs, soda, buttermilk, vanilla and cinnamon. Pour into a floured and greased pan, Bake for 30 - 35 minutes at 350º.

Icing: Melt one stick of butter in a saucepan. Add 3 Tbsp chocolate, 1 tsp vanilla, 8 Tbsp evaporated milk. Sift 1 box powdered sugar and add 1 cup of chopped pecans. Spread over hot cake.

I made this for Brady's thirteenth birthday - but I didn't know he doesn't like nuts! oops! It really is a great cake; very moist and fudgy.
