3/4 cup butter
2 1/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
3 eggs
3 oz chocolate,melted
2 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp soda
3/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups ice water

Directions:
Directions:
Mix butter, sugar and vanilla. Add eggs and beat. Mix in the chocolate
Mix together the dry ingredients and add to the creamed mixture alternating with the ice water.
Pour into 3 greased and floured pans or 1 9x13 pan. Bake at 350 until toothpick stuck in the middle comes out clean.Frost with chocolate icing

I have been using this recipe since 1973 and it has to be the best chocolate cake I have ever eaten.
