3 small pkgs frozen french-cut green beans
1 medium can mushrooms
1 can water chestnuts, sliced
1 large jar cheez whiz
¼ c flour
3 T worcestershire sauce
1 can French onion rings
½ c. light cream
½ c. slivered almonds
1 medium onion, minced
⅛ tsp Tabasco sauce
⅛ tsp pepper
½ tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Saute onion & mushrooms in butter. Add flour, mix well until smooth. Add milk & cream slowly, and then stir in cheese. Cook until thickened and smooth. Add other ingredients, and mix with cooked beans. Place in casserole dish. Bake 45 minutes at 325º oven. Sprinkle with onion rings.

Long time neighbor, Patti, gave me this recipe in the 1970s and it's continued to be a favorite. It's even better the next day--and even cold on a plate of leftovers...it makes a lot and is rich enough to serve as a main course.
