c. Butter flavor Crisco
1 c. peanut butter
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
c. water
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. Quaker Oats (quick or old fashioned, uncooked)
1 c. all purpose flour
tsp. baking soda
Granulated sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Beat first three ingredients until creamy. Beat in water, egg and vanilla. Add combined dry ingredients; mix well. Cover; chill about 2 hours. Heat oven to 350. Shape into 1 inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet; flatten with tines of fork dipped in granulated sugar to from crisscross pattern. Bake 9 to 11 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet; remove to wire rack. Cool completely. Store tightly covered.
Makes about 7 dozen.
