1 cup walnuts
1/2 cup of shortening, butter, or margarine
1/3 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup sifted flour
1/2 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Finely chop walnuts.
Cream shortening and sugar thoroughly.
Blend in vanilla.
Sift flour with salt and add to shortening mixture.
Stir in walnuts.
Roll into 1 inch balls.
Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 18-20 min at 350º
Cool on wire rack and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
