3 - 4 pound chicken

Wash inside and out. Sprinkle inside with salt. Place breast side up on rack in roasting pan. Brush skin with melted butter. Roast uncovered at 400 degrees for 1 3/4 to 2 1/2 hours until tender. The drumstick will move up and down easily. Baste occasionally while baking with drippings.
