1 ½ cups crushed pretzels
½ butter
½ cup sugar

8 ounce package cream cheese
Large tub of cool whip
2 - 3 ounce packages of strawberry jello
2 - 10 ounce packages of frozen strawberries

Directions: |
Directions:Mix the sugar and butter for the crust - soften the butter before mixing. Then add the pretzels and stir. Press into the bottom of a 9 X 13 glass baking dish that has been sprayed with non stick spray. Set aside.
Cream the other sugar and the room temperature cream cheese in kitchenaid mixer and paddle attachment. Fold in the cool whip.with a spatula. Spread on top of the crust in the baking dish.
Dissolve the jello in 2 cups of hot water then add two cups of cold water add the thawed frozen strawberries. Refrigerate until starts to set up. Then, pour the jello over the cream cheese mixture and refrigerate again until set. Cut in squares for serving. |

Notes: This is a variation on the strawberry cake again using the frozen strawberries. You could use fresh strawberries and the jelllo as well. I would drain the juice from the strawberries and just use the strawberries or it could get a little runny and not set up. This is why fresh sliced strawberries would work as well. You could also substitute raspberries and raspberry jello, or the frozen berry mix from Costco and the jello flavor of your choice.
