1 cup soft butter (two sticks)
1 cup canola oil
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cream of tarter
1 tsp baking soda
3 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 cup Rice Krispie cereal
1 cup uncooked rolled oats

Directions:

Cream the butter in Kitchenaid mixer with paddle attachment. Add sugar and mix, Slowly add the egg and mix throughly on low speed. Sift the dry ingredients (soda, cream of tarter, salt, flour). Add the dry ingredients to the mixer with the butter mixture. Then add the Rice Krispies and oatmeal. Drop my teaspoons on parchment paper on cookie sheet. Cookies will spread so allow a few inches apart. Bake for 375 degrees for about 10 minutes or until the edges are brown.

Another cookie that my grandmother made and gave in her famous metal tins. These also freeze well to have on hand for the kids when they came to visit. Remember that I told you my grandfather hung out in the basement with his rocking chair? Can you blame him? The basement was where she stored all her treats!
