Personal Notes:
These meatballs have been a family treat. I remember the first day I ever met your Nonna. I got out of the car after an 8 hour drive with your dad and she took me on an immediate walk. She told me she was so excited I was dating your father and she could tell he made a good choice. She asked me if I liked to cook. We got back to the house and the smell of homemade red sauce hit my nose for the first time; a smell I always recognize. That same day, she showed me how to make her meatballs, which was an honor since I just met her. I will never forget that day. I asked her how much breadcrumbs and she said until they are perfect. That is a magic touch. I have adored seeing you and your sister say the house smells like Canada, and good job mom they almost taste as good as Nonna’s. There is one ingredient not on the list above, her magical love that she adds when she rolls each meatball. However, I do believe that if you believe and think of her you are a true LEO and can make these just like she does - it is a family tradition. Sundays should be for Mass, family time, and pasta with meatballs.
