• 1 egg
• 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
• 1 package Lipton onion of beefy onion soup mix
• 2-3 T ketchup or tomato sauce
• 1/2 tsp each of Salt and pepper
• 1 lb. lean ground beef
• 2 T butter
• 2T flour
• 1 14 oz can low sodium beef broth

Directions:

Beat egg in a large mixing bowl. Add next 3 ingredients plus salt and pepper. Mix well. Crumble in the ground beef and mix gently with hands or a spoon until combined.
Form into 4 oblong patties.

Melt butter in a large frying pan with lid. Heat to medium/ medium high and add burgers. Cook burgers a few minutes on each side until brown. Remove burgers to a plate. Add another T butter and let melt.* Add 1-2 T flour and stir until dissolved into butter. Pour in beef broth. Bring to a boil and stir or whisk until flour mixture is dissolved and the mixture starts to thicken. Add the burgers to the gray and simmer, covered, for about an hour.

*If you want to add onions or mushrooms to the gravy. Add an extra T of butter and saute the sliced onion and/or mushroom until soft, add the flour and broth and continue as directed.
