"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain

Combine all in one bowl. Use 10x14 pan, or 9x13 ang get a bonus 12 cupcakes. Grease and flour pan. Bake at 350º for 40/45 minutes. Bake cupcakes for approx 25 - 28 mins. While the cake and cups cool ... make the frosting!

Frosting

Heat flour and milk until thick. Stir constantly or it will burn. Set aside and let cool. Combine sugar and butter and beat until mixed well and fluffy. Add cooled flour and milk mixture. Beat until fluffy.

(Note: This frosting is easy to ruin. Follow the instructions, don't rush it, and don't frost the cake with it until you test it and determine it doesn't taste like flour!)

This one comes from Kirsten's (Al's ex-wife) family. Known as "The Famous Carley Cake". It's so damn good. Good luck with the tricky frosting.
