2 cups Sugar
1/3 cup cocoa
2/3 cup milk
dash of salt
2 tbsp. Karo syrup
2 tbsp. butter
1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions:
In a med sauce pan combine sugar, cocoa and salt and stir to combine
Add milk and stir
Add to med-med hi heat
Add the Karo syrup
The fudge mixture will come up to a boil and go back down
While this is cooking get a small bowl with cold water
Once it boils back down, stir and take a tiny bit and drip it into the bowl with the cold water
If you can form a ball with your fingers and it stays together then it's ready
Shut off the heat and place in the sink with cold ice water
Add butter and vanilla and stir
Pour onto a buttered dish and let sit
You can also add peanut butter, or walnuts or even cherries

This recipe has been in our family for as long as I can remember. My favorite of course is with peanut butter. Have fun trying new ways and adding your own goodies too.
