Ingredients:  
2 cups all purpose flour
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 tsp salt
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp cloves
2 tsp soda
1 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 cups applesauce
2 cups raisins
2 cups all bran (bran cereal)

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, spices, and soda together.
Cream sugar and shortening.
Add beaten egg and applesauce.
Add all bran to dry ingredients,
then add dry to sugar and shortening mixture.
Stir in raisins.
Bake 350 for 15 minutes.

These were grandpa's (Buddy Weltzheimer) favorite. According to Carol (Weltzheimer) Belcher, it used to make grandma (Evelyn Weltzheimer) crazy that grandpa could eat these cookies about as fast as she could make them.
