1 (4.5 oz) can mushrooms, drained and liquid reserved
1 green bell pepper, chopped
C butter
C all purpose flour
1 tsp salt
tsp black pepper
1 C chicken broth, hot
1 C milk
4 cooked, boneless chicken breast halves, chopped
(I cook chicken seasoned with dried basil, salt and pepper. Basil gives a wonderful
flavor. )
4 oz chopped pimento

Cook and stir drained mushrooms and green pepper in butter over medium heat
for 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
Blend in flour, salt, and pepper. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is bubbly.
Remove from heat.
Stir in chicken broth, milk and reserved mushroom liquid.
Heat to boiling, stirring constantly.
Boil and stir for 1 minute.
Stir in chicken and pimiento.
Heat through.
Serve over toast or Pepperidge Farm puff pastry shells (found in frozen section).
