Spiced Pumpkin Bars with Creme Cheese Frosting image

C butter
2 C sugar
1 (16 oz) can pumpkin
4 eggs
2 C flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
tsp salt
tsp nutmeg
1 C chopped pecans

Cream Cheese Frosting
1 (8 oz) pkg cream cheese
⅓ C softened butter
1 tsp vanilla
3 C sifted powdered sugar

Preheat oven to 350.
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Blend in pumpkin and eggs.
Combine dry ingredients and mix well.
Stir in pecans.
Spread mixture into a greased and floured jelly roll pan.
Bake for 30-35 minutes.
Cool completely, and then slice.
For real pretty bars, freeze after cooling before cutting. After frozen, remove and cut with sharp knife.

To prepare cream cheese frosting:
Combine cream cheese, butter, and vanilla.
Mix well until blended.
Gradually add sugar.
Frost bars when cool.
