⅔ C shortening
C granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 egg
4 tsp milk
2 C sifted all purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Thoroughly cream shortening, sugar and vanilla.
Add egg and milk; beat till light and fluffy.
Sift together dry ingredients; blend into creamed mixture.
Divide dough in half.
Cover and chill at least 1 hour.
On lightly floured surface, roll to ⅛ inch thickness. Leave other half in refrigerator until ready to use.
Cut in desired shapes with cookie cutters.
Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 375 about 8 to 10 minutes.
Cool slightly, remove from pan and place on cooling racks until cooled completely.

Yields: 3 dozen.
