2 cups mashed potatoes
1 large egg
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese
1 1/2 cups flour

1 tbsp margarine
1/2 cups fresh sliced mushrooms

1/2 cup chopped green onion
1 cup grated gruyere cheese
1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)
1 large egg fork beaten

Directions:
Directions:
Crust: Mix first 6 ingredients in medium bowl to make soft dough. Roll out 1/2 on well floured surface into 12x9 inch rectangle.

Filling: Melt margarine in frying pan. SautÚ mushrooms until golden. Remove to medium bowl. Cool slightly.

Add next 3 ingredients. Stir. Spoon 1/2 of filling down length in center third of rectangle. Cut perpendicular slits in dough about 1 inch wide from filling outward to edges. Fold strips to cross over center portion in braid design. Repeat with second 1/2 of pastry and filling.

Carefully transfer braids to greased baking sheet using pancake lifter. Brush tops with egg. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese. Bake in 375║ oven for 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown.
