Ingredients:
Ingredients:
whole chicken

2 stalks of celery

2 onions

1 whole carrot

1 box Bisquick

milk (needed for dumplings)

Directions:
Directions:
Put the whole chicken into a large pot or dutch oven. Cover with water. Add a generous amount of salt to the pot as well as the vegetables (uncut). Bring to a boil and simmer until the chicken is done.

When the chicken has cooked, either break off certain pieces such as the drumsticks, wings, etc. or pull chicken from the bone. Set aside.

Pour about 2 inches of the chicken broth into a skillet (draining out the vegetables), and bring it to a boil. Follow the directions for making dumplings on a Bisquick package by dropping the dumplings, once made, into the boiling broth 1 Tablespoon at a time. When the dumplings are cooked, remove.

The broth underneath should have thickened. Season to taste. Place chicken or chicken pieces and dumplings on a plate. Top with the gravy.
