3-4 cups cooked chicken, (1 fryer boiled)
2 cups dry shell macaroni
1/2 lb cheddar cheese
1/3 cup butter
1/3 cup flour
3 cups chicken broth
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 small onion, grated
1/8 tsp garlic powder (dash)
1/8 tsp salt (dash)
1/8 tsp pepper (dash)

Directions:
Directions:
Heat butter and add flour and mix well. Then add chicken broth and stir well so it will not lump. Add onion, soup, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Cook macaroni and drain. Add chicken, cheese, and sauce and mix well. Pour into a shallow baking dish. Heat in 350 degree oven until bubbly. Cover with topping of 1 cup bread crumbs and 4 tbsp butter. Melt butter over low heat, add crumbs and stir until well mixed. Sprinkle paprika over top of crumbs. Bake a few minutes more.

This is one of Sue Howell's recipes. She is one of Aunt Hattie and Uncle Moss's daughter-in-laws. Jimmie Howell was always so good to visit Grandmother and Grandad in Dimmitt. Just a side note, Jimmie's nickname for Sue was "Squaw". She was a school counselor, I believe. And a very good cook.
