½ c. chopped onion
5 slices bacon, cut in small pieces
1 can (14.4 oz.) sauerkraut
1 can (14.5 oz. ) diced tomatoes
¾ c. brown sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Cut bacon into small pieces. Chop onion Sauté and drain off grease. Mix with sauerkraut, tomatoes, and sugar. Do not drain tomatoes and sauerkraut. Pour into 11 x 7 baking dish. Bake at 350º for 1½ hours or until slightly firm.

The first time I had this dish was at Tim’s mom’s house when we were dating. I had never had anything like it before. It is really good and does not have a strong sauerkraut flavor.
