1 cup of butter
1 cup vegetable oil
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 tspn vanilla
4 cups flour
1 tspn salt
1 tspn baking soda
1 tspn cream of tartar
granulated sugar for top of cookies

Directions:
Directions:
Beat butter and oil at medium speed with an electric mixer until well combined. Gradually add sugars, beating well, add eggs and vanilla beating until blended. Combine flour and next 3 ingredients, add to butter mixture mixing well. Drop dough by powdered teaspoons onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 375º for 9 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Transfer cookies to wire racks. Sprinkle with sugar while warm. Cool.
