8T Butter
8 onions, sliced
1T sugar
2T flour
8 cans double strength beef broth
½ cup red wine
2T VSOP Brandy
French break - sliced and toasted
Grated gruyere

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter in 5qt nonstick pan. Add onions and sugar, stirring under medium heat until brown. After onions have caramelized, add flour and mix well. Add broth, wine and brandy. Simmer 25 minutes.

Fill bowls with soup, add a slice of toasted french bread, top with cheese and place under low broiler until cheese has slightly browned and thoroughly melted

Serve Immediately.
